Weapons Charges
A 39-year-old area man is facing weapons charges after an incident at a local restaurant early last evening. The male and a friend attended to the restaurant and were causing issues inside regarding vaccine passports. During the argument one of the males was observed to have a sword over his shoulder and police were contacted.
On officers’ arrival, the two men were located still inside the restaurant and the male with the sword identified by staff. He was subsequently placed under arrest for possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and held for a bail hearing.
The homemade sword was recovered by police and there were no injuries as a result of the incident
