Domestic Disturbances
Two men are facing domestic related charges in separate incidents from yesterday and early this morning.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon Brockville Police attended to a Bennett Street residence after the victim’s father contacted police as he was concerned about his daughter being inside her residence with her ex-husband. The father had reported the relationship had ended badly and the ex-husband was not allowing him into his daughter’s residence nor was he allowing his daughter to leave her residence to come out and see him.
As a result officers attended to the residence and spoke with the female resident who told officers she and her 37 year old husband had been involved in an argument which turned physical. As a result the young man is now facing charges of domestic assault and was released from custody with several conditions to protect the victim and given a future court date.
Just after midnight officers were called to a Wellington Street address by the 24 year old woman who resides at the house. She told officers that she and her boyfriend were arguing over food. The argument continued and turned physical resulting in her being struck by her 22 year old boyfriend.
After speaking all parties, the 22 year old man was arrested for domestic assault and conveyed to police headquarters and held in custody until he was sober. He was then released with several conditions to protect the victim and given a future date to appear in court.
