Threats Uttered to Cause Harm

On June 17, 2022 at about 5:00PM, the Brockville Police Service received information from one of our community partner agencies, of a threat made by someone to take another person’s life. Information was that a 30-year-old female was in conversation with a worker from Family and Children Services. She became frustrated and stated that she was going to “get a gun and shoot” her ex-partner. Due to the family situation and concern for safety this was reported to police. Police investigated and the female was located, arrested and charged with uttering threats. She was later released on conditions and a safety plan in place. 

 

Bail Violations

On June 17, 2022 at about 11:45PM, an officer from the Brockville Police Service observed two youths in the area of North Augusta Rd. together. These youths are 15 and 17-years of age and both known to be on conditions to abstain from communicating with one another. Both youths were placed under arrest and charged with failing to comply with undertaking. They were released with a future court date and turned over to their parents.

 

Domestic Related Mischief

On June 18, 2022 at about 9:00PM, the Brockville Police Service learned that a domestic dispute had taken place at an address on King St. W., the previous night on June 17, 2022. Officers attended and investigation revealed that a 26-year-old male was arguing with his female partner that night. During the heated argument the male slammed doors and punched holes in the walls. Due to the damage caused to the residence, the male was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.00. He was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.

 

Impaired Driving and Obstruct Peace Officer

On June 19, 2022 at about 1:15AM, the Brockville Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Crocker Cres., due to suspected impaired driving. Driving behaviour was what drew the officer’s attention. Investigation revealed that a 22-year-old female was operating the vehicle and a 24-year old male was a passenger. The female was believed to have been consuming alcohol and a roadside breath sample was taken. The test resulted in a fail. As she was placed under arrest, both individuals became uncooperative with police during the investigation. Both were yelling, shouting and had to be physically restrained. The male was arrested for obstruct peace officer and the female was arrested for operation while impaired over 80mg. They were both taken to the Brockville Police Service. While taking the female out of the rear of the police vehicle, she kicked one of the officers in the chest. Both continued to cause issues and were not cooperative for some time. The female did cooperate with providing her breath samples and it was found she had over double the legal limit of alcohol in her blood. Once both were sober and calm, they were released on various paperwork with future court dates. The female was charged with assault peace officer, operation while impaired and operation over 80mg. The male was charged with obstruct peace officer.  

 

Harassment, Mischief and Trespass

On June 18, 2022 at about 5:30PM, the Brockville Police Service received a complaint about a 52-year-old male continually trespassing and harassing people in the downtown area on King St. This has been an ongoing issue for some time. Police have exhausted attempts in connecting this individual with resources for assistance. Due to the increasing complaints and nature of the actions, the male was arrested and charged with mischief – obstruct, interrupts or interferes with lawful enjoyment of property, common nuisance – endangering life, criminal harassment and fail to comply with probation.  He was released with new conditions and a future court date.
