Family Dispute

On May 10th at 11:16 am., Brockville Police responded to a family dispute at a south end residence.

Officers ended up arresting a local, 13 year old female, after she struck her mother. The mother did not require medical assistance. The young teen was also on conditions of probation and was violating those conditions when carrying out the assault.

She was held in custody and will appear in bail court.

 

Theft

On May 10th at 12:19 pm., Brockville Police attended a north end box store for a theft complaint.

A 41 year old female, from the Prescott area, had been apprehended by store security for shoplifting. Officers arrived and the woman was issued paperwork for a future court date and released at the scene.

 

Correction:

During the stories this week about the black bear in the east end of the city, some wrong information went out. There was a tweet that stated the bear was captured and released. Actually, the attempt to tranquilize the bear was unsuccessful and visual contact was lost after the animal entered a wooded area. We apologize for the incorrect information and the tweet has been removed.
