Female Arrested for Impaired Driving

On December 5, 2023, at about 6:30pm, police received a call regarding a female appearing to be unresponsive behind the wheel of a vehicle. The vehicle was observed in the area of Downey St. Officers arrived and located a 44-year-old, female, alone in the vehicle and obviously impaired. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. It was also learned that this female had a warrant for her arrest in relation to a theft, which occurred earlier this year in August, at Shoppers Drug Mart. There were no signs of impairment by alcohol and it was believed that she was impaired by drugs. A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) performed testing which confirmed that she was impaired. Her licence was suspended, vehicle impounded and charged with operation while impaired by drugs. She was released with conditions and a future court date once sober.
