Male Arrested After a Robbery Investigation

On March 11, 2024, at about 5:30pm, police received a 911 call regarding a robbery in the area of the Metro on King St. W. Investigation revealed that a male had attended the grocery store with his dog. He tied his pet up outside the store while he went into the store quickly to grab a few items. Witnesses observed a 42-year-old, male, approach the dog and appeared to be attempting to steal it. The owner happened to come out during this and confronted the male subject taking his dog. Then, the subject brandished a knife and swung toward the dog owner. The victim luckily was able to knock the knife away from the subject and the subject fled the area. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Police began searching for the subject and located him a short distance away in the area of Pearl St. W. When he was arrested and searched, it was found that he was in possession of a second knife. The 42-year-old, male was held in custody for a bail hearing after being charged with robbery with a weapon, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.
