Impaired Driving
In the morning hours of the 28th of October 2018 officers were on patrol just after midnight and observed a vehicle being driven without lights being turned on which caused officers to initiate a traffic stop. During the course of the interview an odor of alcohol was detected on his breath. As a result the driver was given a road side screening device demand which resulted in the device issuing a warning alert. The law requires a temporary suspension of driving privileges for a period of 7 days for second time alert warnings, as was the case for this 39 year old man. The incident didn’t end there. Later on in the evening officers see the same vehicle being operated again without lights turned on and the car is stopped again. This time another male who is under the influence of alcohol is behind the wheel. During that investigation the 64 year old male demands that he will display his sobriety to officers and in the process fails. He was arrested for impaired driving and subsequently supplied samples of his breath which resulted in readings of being over the legal limit and received a future court date for the offence. The vehicle was impounded.
